Paint Your World - A GPS-Based Territory Battle.
Welcome! You've successfully signed up and chose a Username. You have joined your first Group. If you didn't select or create a Group, you were assigned the open public Group called, "Paint That $#!@".
You'll go to the Welcome Screen from here which is where you'll typically go after logging in. Select Upload Run to upload a GPX file of your latest walk, run, or hike to earn points for your group. You'll select the Group to assign the points to whenever you upload. Each GPS data record from your import falls within a 100ft X 100ft Grid Block mapped on a REAL world map. 100 base points are earned plus additional points for your pace within the Grid Block.
A successful upload will take you to View Map focused on the geographic area of your latest upload.
You'll see a map with squares based on the location of your latest run that will display either the color or icon of the Group that has the most active points within the Grid Block. If you haven't uploaded a GPX file, the Map will pan and zoom to the closest location that has a Grid Block with active points from your Group. If you created a Group when signing up and there are no uploads, you'll go to the closest Grid Block with active points.
You'll see which Group currently controls that Grid Block, how many points remain active, how many points were originally earned, and the Decay Rate.
The Decay Rate is the rate at which points are reduced every day. The base rate is 5 points per day. Modifiers can affect the Decay Rate.
Select a nearby Territory from the dropdown on the map. The Territory Details will popup providing info about which Groups have the most Active points in the Territory and the Users who have contributed active points. You can favorite a Territory so it's easy to find later.
Now you're ready to dominate the map, strategize with power-ups, and see your running prowess become tangible control!
